British Participation
The British Pavilion accommodated thirty five British breed societies and companies along with two breeds of cattle – four British Limousin heifers and two British Charolais heifers). The total space taken was 510m2 gross space (229m2 net) – an increase of 80% in comparison to the show in 2006. A number of exhibitors were returning for their second visit, having attended the show last year. Exhibitors included Societies from the cattle, sheep and pig industries. A group from the Northern Ireland Livestock & Meat Commission also participated bringing eight companies with them. The British Pavilion included lounge and meeting rooms for exhibitors along with a kitchen area for drinks and snacks.A British reception was held on 29th September in the Pavilion and was attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mr. Marek Chrapek and the General Director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dariuz Mlotkiewicz.
Many new contacts were made with potential Polish partners in the livestock genetics industry and exhibitors expressed a desire to return to next year’s show.
The event was sponsored by the British Pig Association who offered UKTI financial assistance to qualifying companies. The British Group was co-ordinated by the MLC (Meat & Livestock Commission).
